The ICL7135CQI+ is a 4 digit analogue to digital converter with multiplexed BCD outputs in 28 pin PLCC package. This device is divided into analogue section and digital section. The digital section includes the counters, input and output interfaces and control logic which controls the timing of each measurement cycle. Each measurement in divided into four phases as auto-zero(AZ), signal integrate (INT), reference deintegrate (DE) and Zero integrator (ZI). Digital section controls operation of analogue during each of these phase using counter and the state of comparator to determine when to star each of these phase. This device is used in wide range of measurement application involving manipulation and display of analogue data such as pressure, voltage, weight, resistance, temperature, speed, current and material thickness.
